Take Our Bipolar Disorder Quiz

Because bipolar disorder is often misunderstood, it can make it difficult for a person to recognize if they have it. In fact, people often go years without knowing they have a mental health disorder at all. As a result, they delay getting the valuable help they need. We have created a simple quiz to help you determine if you may have symptoms of bipolar disorder. Answer “yes” or “no” to each of the following questions:

Do you sometimes feel hyperactive and do not need much sleep?

Do you sometimes feel invincible, including engaging in risky behaviors?

Have you had racing thoughts and can’t seem to focus on a task or conversation?

Do you have periods of feeling extremely depressed and cannot pull yourself out of it?

Do you go through periods of feeling hopeless and sometimes crying?

Sometimes, do you experience times when your sex drive is greatly increased?

Do you sometimes feel angry or moody and cannot control it?

Do you go back and forth between wanting to isolate and wanting to be quite social?

Have you cycled from depressive moods to hyperactive joyful moods?

Do these changes in mood and outlook negatively impact your relationships, career, or education?

Do you have a family member who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder?

Assessing This Bipolar Quiz

If you answered “yes” to two or more questions, you may show signs of having bipolar disorder. While this quiz cannot give you a definitive answer about your mental health, it provides a way for you to recognize what some of the symptoms of bipolar disorder are and if you have them. The more questions you answered “yes” to, the more likely it is that you do have a mental health disorder and should discuss it with a treatment professional.

What Are My Next Steps to Officially Diagnose Bipolar Disorder?

Once you have taken our bipolar quiz, it’s important to talk to a mental health professional about your results. A qualified doctor or therapist can review the results with you or you can contact a mental health facility and talk to a member of their staff. Talking to clinical experts will give you the opportunity to talk about your condition. From there, a plan of treatment can be created that will help minimize the symptoms of bipolar disorder and allow you to achieve better management of your life.
